Introducing the...

Drought desk is an initiative by The Exchange in collaboration with individuals and private enterprise, to provide free coworking and desk space to struggling farming families looking to start or scale a secondary business for off-farm income.

This initiative is for all those who want to help but aren't sure how.

Purchase below a drought desk and ensure that there is a seat for the brave. Help our drought-affected community seek their diversified income they need to survive.

New South Wales is currently staring down the barrel of its worst drought on record. With many questioning their future relying on the land, it has never been more important to identify, and support those seeking off-farm income, and help better educate farmers to create adaptive business models.

Additionally, geographic and social isolation leading to poor mental health, coupled with the lack of reliable connectivity, are issues that continually plague the community of bush founders. We provide coworking and community, to give people in regional Australia the best chance at commercial success in their own business.

Times are financially tough for many farming families; our aim is to provide free coworking seats for the brave. The Exchange is where coworking meets community, and we want to serve as a landing pad for those hesitant about scaling or starting their side businesses, those teetering on the edge but are stalled at the barriers of their own confidence, capability and capacity.

We aim to better alleviate economic stressors, lack of connectivity and boost mental health for farmers and their families during these times of hardship. To champion and encourage those seeking additional off-farm income whilst providing financial relief as they transition.

The Exchange will deliver dedicated free coworking desks available to farming families five days a week. They will be able to come into town and have a guaranteed desk and community available to them any time they need at no cost to them. The recipients of these gifted desks will have access to not only a free desk, but also to all the additional amenities, programs and facilities The Exchange offers, these include:
